The Iraq Hope Network, a Japan-based network of NGOs, aid workers, journalists, lawyers, university professors and volunteers who together sponsor  projects in Iraq focused on humanitarian aid, reconstruction and human rights.

イホネットのはじまり 

2004 年7月22日、中野ゼロ大ホールで開催された『イラク人と語る〜私達にできること』で、「日本を始めとするアジアと、イラクを始めとするアラブの人々が、 対話をし、つながりあい、政府に左右されない信頼関係を築いていくための市民によるネットワーク『アラブ・ホープネットワーク』を作ろう」と、高遠菜穂子 さんとNGO等のメンバー達が呼びかけました。 

その後、アラブに限らずゆくゆくは地球規模のネットワークを目指していこう、と名称を初めの一歩になるイラクのみにして『イラクホープネットワーク （略称：イホネット）』に決定。 

すでに様々な活動をしている人達や、少し興味はあるけれど何をしたらいいか 解らない人達、それから支援先の国の人達…みんなを広くゆるやかに繋げていくネットワークを作っていきたいと思います。 

情報を共有することにより、組織はより有効な支援を行うこと、個人はイラクを通して国際社会の一員であるという意識を高めることを目的とします。 サッカー少年
