-Indymedia Japan: No to Jietai in Iraq/No To Rumsfeld

US Secretary of Defence, the leading pro-war figure Donald Ramsfeld will visit Japan on 14th November. He is a central figure of neo-concervatives; he has been exaggerating threats of North Korea, Iran, Iraq etc. even before he became Secretary of Defence in Bush administration.

Japanese government will discuss concrete steps for delivering SDF to Iraq, to reinforce the illegal and brutal U.S. occupation, as well as further militarisation of northeast Asia.

We cannot accept the sending of SDF to Iraq, which is against UN, against international laws and against Japanese constitution. We cannot accept providing a huge amount of money to support illegal occupation of Iraq. We cannot support the militarisation of northeast Asia which hightens the tension in the region.
